Linux source from github

Hi,

I am trying to download the linux source code from https://github.com/Xilinx/linux-xlnx. As there are many tags available at this repository so , Can anybody please tell me which is the stable and latest "tag" for this on this website for ZedBoard.

Josh is correct, but typically you should match a release tag to the version of Vivado you are using. If you scroll through the tags, you will see one that matches the 2016.2 release, for example. That would be the latest stable release for that version of Vivado and PetaLinux tools. 2016.3 will probably be released soon, since the hardware tools went public not long ago.

Hi Aditya,

Josh is correct, the Xilinx forum is the correct place to ask this question as we have no control over the releases there.

I have found that you are usually safe sticking to the major release tags. For example, using "xilinx-v2016.2" should be okay for you to use.

Xilinx is the one who is in charge of the Zedboard BSP. You can find the 2016.3 Zedboard BSP on their website at
https://www.xilinx.com/support/download/index.html/content/xilinx/en/downloadNav/embedded-design-tools.html
labeled "ZED BSP".
