Pmod Camera ?

Is there any plans for Pmod camera/image sensor that can be interface to the Zynq zedboard. A single pmod might not be enough though.

Something like this would be very useful.

We are working on developing a solution like you recommend based on FMC, not PMOD.  Stay tuned for more details.

For quick and easy, you could look at interfacing a USB camera to ZedBoard.

If we were to work on something else, what would you like to see?  Is there a particular image sensor or camera that you think fits well?  We have TMDS_33 available on 2 of the 2x6 Pmods, but not LVDS.  The FMC can do any single-ended or differential standard between 1.8V and 3.3V.

The image sensor specifications similar to the VMOD(http://www.digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm?NavPath=2,719,932&Prod=VMOD-CAM) with FMC or PMOD interfacing would be very useful. The cost to value proposition from the board is a big plus factor. Probably single ended FMC pins can be substituted for VHDCI ports which are lvcmos33.

There is fairly good support in embedded linux ,video for linux for usb cameras. Have used logitech 9000 and others with gumstix overo and pandaboard.

Will be interesting to see if the elphel guys move to zynq instead of sticking with the fpga + separate etrax .

A mount for a camera that could take a cs or even a standard(dslr) camera lens would be great.Thats the problem with most camera addon boards is there is no easy way or good option for adding a lens or extra lens.

If you have $12, you could always try interfacing an OV7670 - I've got one running on a Nexys2.

Hamster has a camera working on the zedboard using two pmods. I am currently working on an FMC breakout board so I can use those pins instead.

I have been using the camera module MT9D111. MT9D111 is using two pmods on the ZedBoard.

We are currently building an APS-C sized 12 Megapixel image sensor frontend with a Nikon f-mount as FMC addon-board for the Zedboard as open source hardware: http://axiom.apertus.org/index.php?site=alpha

Help would be greatly appreciated: with money (http://axiom.apertus.org/index.php?site=donate) and actually helping us to do it :-)
