Program bitstream to QSPI?

adamc
adamc over 2 years ago

I would like to program my bitstream directly to QSPI but I can't seem to find a tutorial for the ZUBoard nor can I find the ".mcs" files necessary. I'm not using the PS so I don't have a Vitis build.

Using Vivado, under "Hardware Manager", I click "Add Configuration Memory" but I can't seem to find the "is25wp256e" chip so instead I chose the "is25wp256d-qspi-x1-single". However, now it's asking for an MCS file which I haven't been able to find in the avnet board files.

Is there a better way to program the bitstream to QSPI?

Thanks!

-Adam

Correct. The PS powers up and loads first. It then loads the PL. When you use JTAG to load the PL from Vivado, it uses still uses the PS invisibly.

Use of the PS is required for Zynq devices.  The processor boots first and then loads the bitstream (included in the .bin file) into the PL fabric.

Currently I'm programming the PL directly without a PS. So when powered on the bitstream won't load from flash without a PS?
