ZUBoard Rev 2

Hello everyone,

I just bought a new ZUBoard and it got delivered today. I was looking for reference documents when I saw that there is a product change notice and there is a Rev 2 PCB (released in Apr 2023).
I verified my board and it looks like I received Rev1. Can anyone please comment on how this PCN affects board performance.
It appears that the change is related to how LPDDR4 CKE signals are terminated. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I am in the same situation - mine has just arrived today and is also a rev1 so would like some clarity please before powering it up.

    I powered on the board and it seems to work fine, but I am not sure if the preloaded FreeRTOS uses DDR memory.

    Avnet's customer support rep wasn't able to answer any technical questions and directed me here. Still waiting for Avnet engineer's to look at this post and respond.

    I suspect that the board will work fine for lower LPDDR4 speeds, but signal integrity will suffer at higher speed due to reflections.

    The PCB change for Rev 2 concerning CKE was done at AMD request. ZUBoard is intended to be a reference design and the lack of bias resistors has not affected our testing; however, the resisters are added to future builds so customers who copy our reference design can include them depending on their use case.

    The Rev 2 documents should be released once production has been validated.
