Compliant Power Supply for the ZU1CG board and First bootup in Linux

Hello Community!
I am relatively a novice in the FPGA community and just started with the ZU1CG board. I have two queries

(1)  I am using a Samsung EP-T4510 45 W, Power Delivery 3.0, Fast Charge adapter to power it and all the LEDs are running as demonstrated in getting started video. However, The board is getting extremely hot and I am worried that I am burning something. The board should be able to handle 45 W and the charger is PD compliment thus should negotiate with the board about the power requirements. Am I doing something wrong?

(2) About the first boot in a Ubuntu environment. Following the startup guide, I have booted up the board but do not see anything on the Serial port. Please note I am not even opening up the VITIS. There is supposed to be an RTOS installed there with a web interface to control the LEDs in the beginning. Do I have to burn the image with Petal Linux in an SD card and then boot up from it, to get a Serial port communication or I am doing something very wrong here? The getting started guide isn't really that helpful in the case of Linux users.

My one gets extremely hot as well, I think it is normal. I have a desk fan pointing at it.

I don't remember what Avnet provides for getting started.  If you desire to run desktop linux on the board you could look at this github project, https://github.com/hdlguy/zuboard

It contains an fpga design and instructions to use Petalinux to boot Debian on it.
