The GreenDream measures variables such as plant growth, ambient light, UV light, ambient temperature and humidity. The data collected by the Dream Board and an external capacitive soil moisture sensor is then used to trigger notifications, managing the irrigation system and to analyze the data collected for future analysis which can be combined with a time-lapse video thanks to the Dream Board camera module.
A system like this can be implemented indoors with a Wi-Fi module or at remote outdoor locations with a long range transmission module like LoRa or Cellular. In an ideal world the wireless modules should have the ability to transmit the data collected by the sensors to an IoT cloud provider and to operate on deep-sleep mode as a way to extend battery life.
