NFC reader somewhere and Raspberry Pi elsewhere ?

Hello

 

I managed to put the NFC reader on the raspberry Pi 3 GPIO board and it works fine.

 

However, I would like to know if there is a way to connect the reader to the board in another way (maybe via some ribbon cable ?) so I can put it somewhere else.

I tried only with the adafruit GPIO ribbon cable and it doesn't work (it throws some error about the serial).

 

Any advice on this ? How can I have the NFC reader somewhere and the raspberry elsewhere ?
