card polling problem

I presume you are swiping the card you received with the kit??

These are the 13.5 Mhz cards.

You did reboot after intialising/enabling SPI.??

I'll try to get a chance to try mine tomorrow or the next day.

Ive enabled SPI yes and I've rebooted it about 10 times now. I didn't receive any card with it but the cards not the problem. The card_polling should be running within a loop and should be showing output even without a card being swiped. there is no output at all for some reason!

Okay understood.

The details are sketchy on what to expect, but I think you'll find that unless you swipe a card there is no output.

You can check the process is running ps -ef

Okay I will try again, however I have these NTAG203 stickers Which I have tried and did not work. Will these be the wrong tags?

Sorry I got held up again.

Not sure but I scanned the card that came with the EXPLORE - NFC (it looks like an advertising/business card and has MIFARE Ultralight in the red section and a number on the rear bottom left just above the website)

The card is blank but should show up as a card number.

The tags are a different format, so I'm not sure.

I've struck the same issues you have.

I've tried using the normal software and even installed the windows version which gives you the software and no joy.

All the documentation points to using Raspbian-wheezy rather than raspbian from NOOBs and I can't see it making any difference.

Tomorrow I might try on an older distribution and Pi B to see if there is a difference.

I don't know enough about the cmake process to see whats happening but I suspect something isn't being initialised.

yes I've been trying several times to get this right and still no luck. I was actually thinking the same thing about the older model B. Could it be that something to do with the newer model having more pins? I'm going to try it with the old model today as well.

I just configured the model B and the exact problem rises. I had a look at the source code written in C and fiddled around with it a little. It seems that the if else statements are not working at all! When no card is detected the loop is supposed to print "No card or Tag detected". Even this is not showing so there must be something wrong with the code. Atm I don't have enough time to look through the long code but our answer may well lie in the source code!

I might hit up the writers of this code and ask for help
