Neard EXPLORE-NFC Dev Software: contains the sources of all the components.

Neard EXPLORE-NFC Dev – Using NeardAL with EXPLORE-NFC. This package contains the sources of all the components.

Download the software here.

The software provided for download has been implemented in order to maximize compatibility with the NeardAL DBUS API maintained by Intel. NeardAL is a library that provides access to the Neard DBUS API. This approach enables the developer to create NFC applications without having to take care about the underlying NFC controller. More information can be found in the Quick Start-up Guide.

Have you looked at how much code is in the packages that are easiest to find? The problem I see is that there is very little code artifact nomenclature and control that makes it clear what works with what. There are multiple versions of SW3693 out there on the NXP site, which you can only find using the wayback machine. None of these I have downloaded so far match the project structure expected in the NFC explorer build, according to the cmake files.

I just found yet another version of SW3693, with a different structure... I just happened to find this by accident.

Like I said, a mess, with ZERO apparent control of distribution by the board distributor.

When I figure this out, I will post to save others time. I need this deep dive distraction like a hole in the head as I am working on a huge project and this is a tiny part of it. I just need to get it built and working and get on with it.

It's just an SPI-controlled peripheral. It takes just one person to take the time to go through the doc and publish some simple code to exercise the PN512 part.

I have not used this part otherwise I'd do it. I've used other NFC parts and the code is just a few hours effort.

I have searched and searched and read documents wherever I could find them. Downloaded SW282816. CMake always stops with an error, indicating that the nxprd-linux library is empty. I have also downloaded SW3963 (multiple versions found!?!?!), which appears to be the the library. It builds. However, I see no documentation to tell me what step to take next. Is this the external project? Do I make a soft link? From where to where?

    Utterly confusing mess.

What a mess. I simply want to build from source so I can develop a Java interface for a mission critical proof of concept.

What files are needed, and where are they?

Why rely on a 3rd party site that you have no control over and is killing links beyond control. Come on. You can do better.
