In a previous post, a small bar graph display was used to provide a visual animation of disk activity on Gizmo2. This is the updated version with the actual lightbar that is going to be used.
The video below has a quick look at how the light bar was constructed, then goes on to animate it and see what it's going to look like shining through the orange translucent half moon cut out on the case. To keep things interesting, there's a few extra animation sequences that can be used as an activity monitor.
Don't be fooled by thinking that this is application specific.. the animation sequences are primarily controlled by pulsing a single pin so there's lots of other applications this could be used in; a heartrate monitor, pedometer even run some music through a low pass filter and pre amp to get your bass drums moving it!!
