If I don't find a solution on installing Windows 7, I'll have to try something else as I have a deadline. Has anyone tried Ubuntu Linux?

Okay, I switched to 14.04.
But this is really disappointing, at the moment the CPU usage is around 97% and RAM is 78% full when nothing is running. Is it also the case for you? Completely unusable to me for running Ubuntu on. But is getting only slightly warm too, doesn't seem like struggling, odd.
As for trying to install the Radeon driver, I followed the tutorial linked and got the linux 64 bit version for G series SOC 2nd generation, but I get this error when trying to install:
"Please install the required pre-requisites for package generation before proceeding with AMD Catalyst installation". Please check the file usr/share/ati/fglrx-install.log for more details"
