Can Gizmo 2 use GX-420CA and 2GB chips w/o issues?

I own a pair of GizmoSphere Gizmo 2 SBC's and with the first I also bought an AMD GX-420CA 4-Core, 2Ghz processor and more recently I purchased 5 (but only need 4 of them) Micron MT41K256M16HA-125E DDR3 RAM chips.  I'd like to install them all, but I want to make certain that I will not have an issue after having made such changes.

I know that GizmoSphere had intended to install 2GB of RAM chips from the start (but for $ savings did not), but I've seen no evidence that the 4-Core AMD GX-420CA 2Ghz processor had been intended, yet it's power usage is close enough to the AMD GX-210HA they did use that it should be fine so long as I don't overdo the use of the additional PCI slots through the High Speed Connector.

1) So, will the GizmoSphere Gizmo 2 work just fine and display all of the RAM of the 2GB RAM chips, or "No!"

2) Will the GizmoSphere Gizmo 2 work fine with the AMD GX-420CA, or is it too power hungry (or otherwise) to allow function of the SBC?

When I got the Gizmo2 for a project of a client I had a lot of issues ( helped me a lot) managing the options supported by the board. In the same period I have also explored with the guys of the GizmoSphere…

Hi David, You should check with Gizmosphere directly if you can, but the answer for (1) was 'no' last time I checked the documentation or website - it stated somewhere that the board was capable of extra…

It requires flashing the BIOS for the 2GB RAM to work. There's a source out there in which the user had already installed and created a BIOS file to flash for 2GB of RAM (it may have been through GitHub…

Not far from a year since my last question to her about this, but no response from her. Is there a special code I have to add to my response to have her possibly respond?

    Hi David,

Firstly, her has a name, it's polite to use it. Secondly, is it possible that no-one has an answer? You're asking about circuit breaker sizing? This is something you could investigate for yourself - although if you have not needed to know this for a year, what's the point... Try one, if it trips, try a larger one. It's not rocket science.

Finally, the lack of answers is likely because very few people have any interest in the product you're discussing. It's an obsolete, ancient product. Time to move on.. others have.

As she was the topic of discussion it was not necessary to repeat her name: "lucie tozer - So it sounds as if the 30V, 4A breaker at the front (the yellow thing standing just behind the power input)..."  If you disagree with the standard English language use then you will need to find the DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) of a large number of authors who followed the same use I had. William Shakespeare deserves punishment by your statement...

Is it your statement that I should treat it as a boat (a hole in the water into which you throw money) rather than ask those who are said to be in the know? Buy devices I may never have another use for which I also cannot return because they were used once soldered to the board... This sounds foolish considering there may very well be other SMD components in addition to the breaker which would also need to be replaced that others may know about and could inform me of.

While a board using not so old components (DDR3 is still used in many devices, gigabit ethernet, USB 3.0, Pcie 3.0) and many which will be for many decades more such as the power control items clearly under discussion (capacitors, diodes, inductors, resistors, IC's, etc) the device is far from dismissable. If you like Raspberry Pi then chances are high you still own your Pi 1 as most owners do.

If you wish to dismiss it then you are of course free to do so, but clearly you haven't fully as you took the time to read my post, analyze it to look for things to attack, then post a response doing so. You may not need to worry too much as with age comes the knowledge that polite, calm, polite responses produce the best results near always.

Yes, I still use my multiple Gizmo 2's (primarily the unit in my car with 5 cameras by USB 3.0 which write to the very large SSD needed for that volume of data) and will continue to. They are incredibly useful for many, many projects. My multiple 3D printers are connected to a second unit which I can control from anywhere in my home remotely (the cameras connected to it allowed me to see blue flickers followed by red flames as I entered the room with my fire extinguisher in hand to put out the fire the brand new Ender 5 which came with a Landy rather than the Mean Well power supply the Amazon listing company had claimed it came with). So incredibly useful, having potentially saved the life of a physically handicapped man (airway problems called Severe Tracheobronchomalacia) by allow him to be alerted of a coming fire.
