I am exploring the net as well too. Sure it will work with 7 & 8 embedded. But the reason - I suppose - that there is a lot of windows is that the widest attention on this machine is pointed on the open source world and Linux is the perfect partner of open hardware. I think that I should search on some microsoft forum or area for the version. What I don't know at all in this moment is how to install the OS but tomorrow morning I will have here all the w8 and 8.1 sdk and embedded iso DVDs so I suppose that something is written there.
