clem57 as there is the work "windows" the search should be done microsoft-like.

    Assumptions:

    A) This is a embedded pc intel based and is declared supporting windows 8 embedded for sure. It's true because from this architecture we must expect it

    B) Ignore the assumption A and consider Microsoft-style approach answering to the following question "what is W8 embedded and where does it fit"? => On any embedded board with Intel processor.

At this point, joining these two separate conclusions (assessed by what found on the Internet, articles, notes etc.) and think where it is the worth to search for: Only MS sites. So, googling "Microsoft Windows 8 embedded install" we find a lot of links but the first drive us to the MSDN site, windows 8 embedded details: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Search/en-US?query=installing%208.1%20embedded&Refinement=52&ac=5 So, based on the assumption A) above, this method should work by definition.

Tomorrow I will setup the development machine and start working on it for a new client project but I think that this will be te way. What to you think ?

clem57 many thanks. Unfortunately it seems a bit incomplete, as for what I saw.

In the meantime, I have at the moment the download of the Windows 8.1 platform. As far as what I know, at the moment I am trying to understand how the Windows MSDN logic works about the development environments. I should have almost all ready on next monday image

balearicdynamics I am trying to install Windows Embedded 8.1 and I saw that you said you got some form of windows successfully installed. How did you get around the issue of it asking for you to select drivers to install?

Because of the limited RAM available, I ended up backing down to Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1 32-bit. That version of Windows Embedded is the latest version to allow you to select the Windows components that you want to install (AFAIK).

It was a bit of a learning curve, but basically I just followed the instructions from Microsoft's web site. I booted the Windows installer from a USB stick.

I then applied the AMD drivers for their g-series SOC.
