image_SVN2591 Flashing in Windows Environment

Hello,

I try to flash the image_SVN2591 (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vwxt1fr2bjh7eu3/AACjstUIGxUc2fcuzecw3xcba) to the eMMC of the Riotbaorard.

According to the Manual (Flashing OS Images in Windows Environment,pdf) the profile name has to be "i.MX6SOLO-ubuntu-RIOT-eMMC".

The manuals say that there is an file with the profile (ucl2.txt) that must be enamed to ucl2.xml.

-> Problem: In the actual version of the tools (Mfgtools-Rel-4.1.0_130816_MX6DL_UPDATER) is the file ucl2.txt missing.

It Support only the profile i.MX6SOLO-yocto-RIoTboard-eMMC (Image_SVN2652 with Kernel 3.10.17) that has no GUI.

Can someone provide the missing file ucl2.txt?

Totally forgot that I linked to an ucl2.xml in my blog, that´s stored on my server... That could be helpfull. ucl2.xml

Where did you download the MFGTools?
The downloads here at E14 are all offline...
Element14 has some severe problems with downloads right now...

If you downloaded an official version the file should already be named ucl2.xml.
But that it´s missing is almost impossible, because without it MFGTool won´t work at all.

You also can find the official Download for MFGTool from Freescale there.
The ucl2.xml should be included. But the configuration for the riotboard won´t be in there.
You´d have to make your own. My blog entry for that would be the right place to look into that.

I can´t provide the original file right now though, since the downloads are all down...

I get the MFGTool from embest (RIoTboard) which is the manufacturer of the riotboard.
The MFGTool comes with ucl2.xml profiles for yocto Linux "i.MX6SOLO-yocto-RIoTboard-eMMC" and Android "Android-RIOT-eMMC", but not for the "i.MX6SOLO-ubuntu-RIOT-eMMC"

I first try to flash the Image to the SD-card using a Linux machine.
I hope that E14 can fix the servers soon...

there has been a difference in the MFG Tools , with one customised for Yocto and other for standard 3.0.35 releases.
the links in manual are currently broken due to frequent website upgrade.

the 3.10.17 release is on freescale RFS not on ubuntu.
the yocto build for riotboard doesn't use an ubuntu RFS.

can you try the ucl2 file above and copy to "Profiles\MX6DL Linux Update\OS Firmware" folder.
let us know if you get MFG working.

if you have a Linux machine nearby, i recommend using this guide : RIoTboard: Updating OS images in Linux Environment
it has no dependencies like windows tool.
