How can i receive input video ?

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

Hi!, i'm planning to receive an analogic video streaming to the board, i may used rca connector for this. As far as i've checked the LVDS and HDMI are only output, so i guess that lets me with the camera interface and usb ports. I do understand that is better to receive digital video so I've seen some analogic to usb video converters but i'm concerned about the drivers. I was thinking to work on android but i guess i'll stick to ubuntu because it seems to have better support on the devices than android. Has anyone done something like this before ?, i'm trying to get ideas of how to do it. Or do yo recommend another way to do this ?

I think the only chance you have to record analog video, is by using a USB recorder.

I have a Mumbi Video Grabber. Has Super Video and Composite as input. Also Left and Right Channel Audio over coax.

It´s working with linux. But I didn´t test it with the RiotBoard. (I´ll try it in a few minutes.)

And the recording quality is more of yeah meh... you know.

And you´re right. I also don´t see any chance to get this working with Android except you know how to integrate the drivers in the kernel.

I´d use Debian with the newest kernel. But as I said I´ll have to try if it´s recognized.

Likely not enabled in my 3.15 build by default, but should be easy enough to add.

    Just tested it.

    And yes it´s not recognized.

Also it´s not a Mumbi but a CSL.

bah... I'm beginning to understand how the distro people must feel.. It's like palying whack-a-mole with usb devices, think you've got them and another 200 unknown ones appear out of nowhere image
