SDcard help

Question

Hello everyone,

Currently I'm trying to install Ubuntu in a SDcard I followed this tutorial: RIoTboard: Updating OS images in Linux Environment but when I want to boot from the SDcard nothing happens, I can't get the outputs showed in page 12 of that tutorial.

I tryed with Linux 3.10.17 SDcard Image but I don't know how it really works ? Do I need just flash with that image ? What happens with the rootfs, I was wondering if it comes inside the SDcard image.

Where is apt-get ?

I wish something could help me. I want to run Ubuntu.

I got a 16GB microSDCard.

The screen is completely blank. I've seen the windows tutorial, but I want to boot from SDcard, are any special difference in that? The partitions I have are /dev/sdb I'm not sure if it would be the problem, with the writing of the files in a wrong partition. I don't think so. A last question: /dev/mmcblk0 -> /dev/sdb /dev/mmcblk0p1 -> /dev/sdb1 are equal in my case ? My initial SDcard partition: Write u-boot and uImage in /dev/sdb0 or in /dev/sdb ? The last time I tried I wrote them in /dev/sdb and create rootfs in /dev/sdb1. Thanks in advance.
