PPP Widget run on Android 4.0 tablet and Riotborad 4.3 difference?

Former Member

Currently I used PPP widget to run USB 3G dongle on Android 4.0 tablet and Android 4.3 Riotboard, get different result:The parameters setting is the same.

1. Android 4.0 tablet: I  plug in USB 3G dongle, PPP widget will automatically check device port, then can be connected to Internet.

2. Android 4.3 Riotboard:, I plug in USB 3G dongle, PPP widget always display "No modem found"(debug console can see USB 3G startup). I need to change PPP widget to NOT "Automatic devices detection", then use manual to get device port and connect. BUT that will not meet customer requirement, so I need to try USB 3G dongle can be directly connected.

Where should I need to change FW code or config items?

Thanks and best regards

Ken

That again is something you have to check with the developers of PPP Widget.

You have to know what the App is expecting to get in Automatic mode.

If it only searches for a specific device path like /dev/ttyUSB, you could ask them to integrate the device Path of your USB 3G dongle on the riotboard.

That would be the easiest way to acomplish this.

But if you don´t know what the app searches for, you can´t tell what to change.
