I was surprised to find that the USB ports on this device are MINI-b type and not MICRO.

The FRDM-KL25Z is working great: Upon startup (1) the LED cycles thru the colors and then (2) the colors change according to inclination detected by the accelerometer embedded in FRDM-KL25Z and connected through the I2C to the MCU and finally (3) when level and led is bright white use the touch sensor slider to reduce the brightness.  The touch sensor slider functions and responds in a very reliable manner, unlike some other touch sensors on other boards.

The other loadable demo apps (enumerated on page 6 of the Quick Start Guide) are of file type .srec  which  "is primarily associated with 'ASCII'. (used by various systems for loading binary data into a device or memory)."

For more info on file type .srec please see this LINK.  Files of type .s19 are also apparently digestable by the SDA loader.
