Kit Overview

 

The ADIS16228/PCBZADIS16228/PCBZ is a breakout board which provides the ADIS16228ADIS16228 on a small printed circuit board (PCB) that simplifies the connection to an existing processor system to simplify the process of prototyping during the early stages of system design and evaluation. The ADIS16228CMLZADIS16228CMLZ is a fully-integrated, vibration measurement/analysis system, which provides a serial peripheral interface (SPI) for all digital communications. It provides a flexible connector interface, with a 15-pin, edge-terminated connection, which minimizes board space, but does not support standard ribbon cable connections.  The interface PCB provides access to the ADIS16228CMLZ, using a dual-row, 16-pin connector, which supports standard ribbon cable systems and hand-soldering connection techniques.

 

The interface PCB also provides two sets of mounting holes: one set of holes for attaching the ADIS16228CMLZADIS16228CMLZ to the interface PCB and another set of holes for mounting the interface board to the system’s frame. The first set of holes line up with the ADIS16228CMLZADIS16228CMLZ's mounting holes and are pre-tapped for use with M2x0.4mm machine screws. The second set of holes support M2 machine screws and line up with M2x0.4mm, pre-tapped holes on the ADISUSBADISUSB evaluation system board.

 

The ADIS16228ADIS16228 iSensorRegistered is a complete vibration sensing system that combines triaxial acceleration sensing with advanced time domain and frequency domain signal processing. Time domain signal processing includes a programmable decimation filter and selectable windowing function. Frequency domain processing includes a 512-point, real-valued FFT for each axis, along with FFT averaging, which reduces the noise floor variation for finer resolution. The 14-record FFT storage system offers users the ability to track changes over time and to capture FFTs with multiple decimation filter settings.
