Kit Overview
The ADIS16488/PCBZADIS16488/PCBZ is a breakout board which includes one ADIS16488AMLZADIS16488AMLZ, one interface printed circuit board (PCB) to simplify the process of "prototyping" during the early stages of system design and evaluation. The ADIS16488AMLZ is a fully-calibrated, tactical-grade MEMS IMU, which provides a serial peripheral interface (SPI) for all digital communications. It provides a dual-row, 24-pin connector interface that minimizes board space but does not support standard ribbon cable connections. The interface PCB provides access to the ADIS16488AMLZ, using a dual-row, 16-pin connector, which supports standard ribbon cable systems and hand-soldering connection techniques.
The interface PCB also provides two sets of mounting holes: one set of holes for attaching the ADIS16488AMLZADIS16488AMLZ to the interface PCB and another set of holes for mounting the interface board to the system’s frame. The first set of holes line up with the ADIS16488AMLZ's mounting holes and are pre-tapped for use with M2x0.4mm machine screws. The second set of holes are in each corner of the interface PCB and support M2.5 or 4-40 machine screws.
The ADIS16488ADIS16488 iSensor MEMS IMU is a complete inertial system that includes a triaxis gyroscope, a triaxis accelerometer, triaxis magnetometer and pressure sensor. Each inertial sensor in the ADIS16488 combines industry-leading iMEMS technology with signal conditioning that optimizes dynamic performance. The factory calibration characterizes each sensor for sensitivity, bias, alignment, and linear acceleration (gyroscope bias). As a result, each sensor has its own dynamic compensation formulas that provide accurate sensor measurements.
