Overview

The CC3100 BoosterPackCC3100 BoosterPack is the next generation SimpleLink Wi-Fi device that dramatically simplifies the implementation of Internet connectivity and delivers the flexibility to add Wi-Fi to any microcontroller, providing all you need to easily create IoT solutions – security, quick connection, cloud support and more.

The CC3100 solution can run on two AA batteries for over a year, which for the first time brings embedded Wi-Fi capabilities to battery-operated end-equipment. The platform gives customers the flexibility to use any microcontroller (MCU) with the CC3100 device subsequently helping to reduce development time, lower manufacturing costs, save board space, ease certification, and minimize RF expertise required.

The CC3100 BoosterPack comes with driver support and SimpleLink Wi-Fi software SDK with 25+ sample applications, and documentation needed to use the SDK.  It also contains the Flash Programmer, a Command Line Tool for flashing SW, Configuring Network and Software parameters (SSID, Access Point Channel, Network Profile etc), System and User Files (Certificates, Web pages etc).

The SimpleLink Wi-FiRegistered CC3100 BoosterPackCC3100 BoosterPack can be used to connect to TI LaunchPad evaluation kits (software examples provided for MSP-EXP430F5529LPMSP-EXP430F5529LP), and with the Advanced Emulation BoosterPack for SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC3100 BoosterPack to connect to PC for MCU Emulation using SimpleLink Studio for CC3100. This kit can also be connected to other platforms through pins – use the programming guide for instructions on porting driver and sample code.

The CC31XXEMUBOOSTCC31XXEMUBOOST is an advanced emulation accessory board that is required for flashing CC3100BOOST, using the radio tool, and for doing networking processing logs for advanced debuging. This Advanced Emulation BoosterPack is for:

  • Flashing updates to the CC3100BOOST
  • Using CC3100 Radio tool for RF performance evaluation
  • Using Simplelink Studio for MCU software development with a PC tool

Key Applications: Home automation, Safety and security, Health and fitness, Cloud connectivity / IoT, Smart plug, Metering
