Kit Overview

The STEVAL-MKI009V1STEVAL-MKI009V1 Adapter Board is based on the LIS3LV02DLLIS3LV02DL 3-axis digital output linear accelerometer and is intended to provide the user with an effective solution for fast system prototyping and device evaluation directly within the user’s application.

The STEVAL-MKI009V1STEVAL-MKI009V1 is designed to be plugged into a standard DIL 20 socket. It provides the user with the complete LIS3LV02DLLIS3LV02DL pin-out, and comes ready-to-use with the required decoupling capacitors on the VDD power supply line. The pin-out of the adapter is designed to be fully compatible with all other available adapter boards so that the user can easily switch from one sensor to another during evaluation without the need for board redesign.

The LIS3LV02DLLIS3LV02DL is a three axes digital output linear accelerometer that includes a sensing element and an IC interface able to take the information from the sensing element and to provide the measured acceleration signals to the external world through an I2C/SPI serial interface. The sensing element, capable of detecting the acceleration, is manufactured using a dedicated process developed by ST to produce inertial sensors and actuators in silicon. The IC interface instead is manufactured using a CMOS process that allows high level of integration to design a dedicated circuit which is factory trimmed to better match the sensing element characteristics.

Key Applications: Free-Fall detection, Motion activated functions in portable, Terminals, Antitheft systems and Inertial navigation, Gaming and virtual reality input devices, Vibration monitoring and compensation.
