The element14 Arduino CadSoft Library (Rev C)

image

We are pleased to offer our very own CadSoft library for Arduino--for free!  Our new library simplifies Arduino shield development by placing the most-popular Arduino pinouts right at your fingertips.  The latest version includes these boards: 101, Uno, Nano, Mini, Micro, Mega2560, Lilypad, Leonardo, Ethernet, and Due

Hi Andrew- This library references the MEGA2560. I think it could be labeled better, so I'll add that change to the next library revision. There are a few differences between the two on the pin headers…

    Well done, very useful.

Hi Andy- This library has the Due, Ethernet, Leonardo, Lilypad, Mega, Micro, Mini, Nano, and Uno boards. Thanks for asking about the Micro Pro - it helps for determining which ones would be useful to add…

    Hi Marino-

I never use the autorouter, so I can't be of much help to you there. However it should take about 30 seconds for you to route those 8 nets that you have there. I'd suggest manual routing.

    Best,

    Hello Dave,
I took your advice and I modified the library. Now the error is no more.
The problem for the routing schema remains. The pins of the library "arduino_mega2560" are ignored during auto routing. At the end of the PCB there are no connections even if there are no errors in DRC. What am I doing wrong I do not know, but it's a shame.

Look at the pattern is very simple.

    Anyway thanks for your support

    Hi Marino-

It looks like your design rules are showing that one pin is too close to the edge. I'd suggest either modifying your design rules to allow this, or simply ignore the error.

    Keep building!

Hello Dave Young, thanks for the reply. In the scheme I put ARDUINI_MEGA2560, with a series of connectors. When compilavo for the PCB did not appear ARDUINIO and connections between these connectors. I then made a diagram with a single connector, but also here the same problem. In mask DRC Errors appear two errors Dimension Layer 1 and Layer Dimension 16. I'm definitely doing something wrong but I do not know what ...

    Thanks for all

    Hi Marino-

The *_EXT parts are designed without packages so those that want to show how to connect to the Arduino on the schematic page, but don't want anything on the board have a way to do that. If you delete the 'ARDUINO_MEGA2560_EXT' from your schematic and replace it with the 'ARDUINO_MEGA2560' part in the library, you will have a package for the part.

    Good luck!
