Why is the Vault slow ... any suggestions?

nhee

I've been working intensely with CS for several weeks, generally having fun.

With several fast systems, SSD, plenty of memory and > 100Mb/s internet, Vault returns can be very slow, can take minutes explained below.

Issues:

Search for a part number or the beginning of one.  Generally the Vault response, which points to "folders" in the Vault, is fairly quick.

When one clicks on a folder, realize there are several options under the Vault setting (gear icon) including a check for "all items".

If I search for a KOA Speer 0402 smt resistor by specific part number that I KNOW is in the Vault, the retrieval from selected folder can take a minute.

If "all items" is checked, go have a coffee as the retrieval can take MANY minutes.  CS cannot perform any other functions or respond while searching/retrieving

Not done yet.  You now have all items showing BUT, there is no way to quickly find YOUR item.  Yes, you can drag a column header, such as "comments" to the grey bar but the same slow times result all over again.  Once filtered, you are still not point to YOUR part, but now can scroll continuously through all items in the select folder.

Altium Questions

1.  Why is the Vault so slow?  Are you limiting bandwidth on the CS product?  If so, it's probably acceptable as long as the product is still USEABLE.

2.  Please add the ability to target and return a specific item.

a. On a large return, such as KOA resistors, all items, the Vault becomes almost useless due to lack of a targeted return

b. I did export all of these parts to a spreadsheet, which is a handy reference, but again, searching for ONE item can take forever
