I'm looking into CircuitStudio. But it's al vague about the features.

Can someone confirm what's in it and whats not?

- Delay Rules/ Line length matching?

- Export in 3d?

- Bus routing?

- Multiple user licence?

    Hi Pieter,

Thank you for posting your question image

CircuitStudio offers many different functions and features, but to directly answer the ones you have listed above-

Length tuning can be done while routing. However there are no design rules for controlling the length - that is done by the user with the routed lengths displayed in the PCB Panel.

Export of 3D is not supported, but full clearance checking in 3D within CS is supported (and you can bring enclosures in to PCB components too).

    Bus routing is included.

The CircuitStudio license is a "standalone". It can be installed on 3 computers for each license, but use of only one at a time is permitted. If you are looking for a multi-user license that allows multiple users to access the tool at once- I would be more than happy to look in to that option for you. image Please feel free to email me additional details on the number of users you would need to altiumsupport@newark.com

    Regards,

    Marisol

We have been paying very close attention to the feedback from the evaluators, our initial customers, feedback via e14 support personnel, and these forums. It is with this feedback that developed v1.1 of CircuitStudio and you can expect to see this released in mid-May.

Along with the typical maintenance one should expect for this product, we are adding the capabilities I’ve listed below to the toolset. Please know that your participation in these forums greatly assists us in getting the product fine tuned.

Here is what’s coming in May to CircuitStudio:

    -       - Importers Updated – Altium Designer 10 and Older PCB files, Protel, and PCAD (these are in addition to Eagle/PADs/OrCAD/and current Altium Designer Support)

    -       - Mixed Mode Simulation

    -       - .STEP Export

    -       - DXF Import

Hi Lawrence, in addition to these features that have been updated in v1.1, when can we expect to see the ability to make slotted holes in pads? When importing from Altium designer v13.3 the slotted holes appear as round holes in circuit studio and there is no option to make them slotted again!

Also, a CAM viewer/editor in circuit studio would be very useful. A lot of people who would purchase this product make their own PCBs at home and would use the CAM editing features like in Altium Designer.

    Thanks,

    Drew
