Does CircuitStudio have Trace Length Matching Tool?

Former Member

I'm evaluating CircuitStudio as a possible upgrade for our current schematic capture and layout software. I've installed the 30 day trial but I'm unable to find any "Interactive Trace Length Matching" tool like Altium Designer has. At this point it seems like CircuitStudio just doesn't have this feature, but I'd like to hear the official word that this is the case. Unfortunately, if this feature is missing from CircuitStudio, it would be a deal breaker for me seeing as so many modern PCB designs require length matched traces.

Cheers!

From what I could gather messing around with the interactive differential router there is not an explicit length matching tool, however it can simultaneously route the pairs.

If you go to View->PCB->Nets, then in the side bar you can get a live updating routed length readout on your differential pairs.  That can be used to match the pairs as you route, though it will require some manual effort.

    Hi Kelton,

Length tuning can be done while routing. However there are no design rules for controlling the length - that is done by the user with the routed lengths displayed in the PCB Panel.

In other words, no, there is no trace length matching tool...

So is there no automatic meander feature? If I have to add meanders by hand, that is really quite a limitation. It looks like I'll be sticking with my beloved KiCAD which has a length matching tool and is free!

I'm searching for this, too. Has the situation improved in the past 5 years?
