Is it possible to select all locked objects in PCB editor and then unlock them in Inspector?

It is possible in two steps lock all PCB primitives and components (in some cases that means thousands of objects):

1. Select all objects by pressing ctrl+A shortcut.

2. Enable locking option in PCB inspector.

Is there a simple way to undo this changes on already saved design with no backuped copy (no repository and history files)?

There is lack of "select locked object" feature.

This is a old thread but I ran across it on a similar recent question about aborted drill table placement. You would need to untick the Protect Locked Objects box in the System Preferences (File > System…

There's no "select all locked objects". This sort of filtered selection isn't available in CS unfortunately.

However to achieve what I think you want to achieve, open PCB Inspector, select everything with ctrl-A, click on the "include only" selection and pick everything other than "text" objects.  Then you should be able to select and de-select "Locked".

On my board at least the "text" objects were the only ones that prevented toggling "Locked".

harvie256 are you able to select locked components? I am using CircuitStudio 1.3 and I can't do that.

As I wrote, it is possible to select all components and enable "lock" for them, it is possible to unlock them all if they are still selected, but when you unselect them, you wouldn't be able to select them again. PCB Inspector is working only for selected objects and in this case is useless.

I have downloaded PCB file of communication module that I would like to use in my design from manufacturer site. It has about 100 pads. In order to make library entry I have to copy pads, outline, strings etc.. Because of pad locking I was unable to do that. I spend hour (including reading all help files, posts, ...) and give up. I made my own library for that part.

I have almost 20 years of experience in Protel / Altium Designer since Schematic 3.0 and PCB 2.8. In AD it will took couple seconds to do what I want but I have started my own buisnes rignt now and AD is simply too expensive for me.

If someone know, how to select (include in selection, don't have to be filtered/only selected) locked objects I would be very gratefully if you advise.

Ok now I understand the problem you're having.  I was toggling locked while they were all still selected.

It looks from the documentation that there is no way to multi-select locked objects.  I can't think of a way to do it.

There is a way to select locked components using PCB panel tool. You can even achieve some kind of filtering by sorting and partialy selecting list. Unfortunately there is no "tracks" option in drop box list. In my designs tracks primitives are about 90% of all design objects.

You would need to untick the Protect Locked Objects box in the System Preferences (File > System Preferences > PCB Editor > General).  Then you can select the objects.  It is probably a good idea to retick the box once you are done.
