Scripts in Circuit Studio?

mflux_gamble

I downloaded an altium library component from digikey / 'accelerated designs.'   The component is a current sense resistor Susumu pn RL7520WS-R22-F.  The component came as a script.

the readme says to open the .PrjScr file - circuit studio opens the file OK.

the next instruction is to Run the UL_Import.pas file.  in Altium there is some kind of run button.  is there an equivalent in CS?  also, is it possible that there is some kind of command line type of way to run this file?

if you right click on the .PrjScr file and select project options, you get this:

where I selected the UL_Import.pas file, then I closed and re-opened the .PrjScr file.  This did something, but gave an error message saying it couldn't find a file with extension .out

is there a way to run scripts in Circuit Studio?

I have another reason to want to do this - i have a need to output formatted data for a pick and place machine.  would be great to accomplish some of this within circuit studio.

I'm a paying customer btw / bought a CS license a couple days ago after using the trial version for a few days.

I found this so far in the keyboard shortcuts guide:

if I press F9 to run the current script, it seems to do something, there is a message at the bottom that says ' press ctrl+break to end execution.'  but beyond that, nothing is happening.

if i run a different .pas i get some kind of DLL access violation message.

    Hi!

Could you share the solution ?

Is it possible to create new part via running script in CS ?

    Thanks!

Currently there is no official support for running scripts in CircuitStudio although as you are finding sometimes some may work but don't expect too much.
