Hi all,
I've started using CircuitStudio several months ago and still struggle with some details:
- I didn't like the concept of libraries in Eagle where you have to have a whole component with all details for everything I would personally prefer placing for example NPN transistor to the schematic and assign it a package(TO92 when I need to If needed I can assign the name BC546 or even BC546ATABC546ATA But not in the beginning That's what I expected I am just wandering what is the advantage of choosing the exact component in the beginning If I should use this approach I expect complete libraries For example there are only some tantalum capacitors values
- Continuation from question 1. Let's consider placing a resistor. I do not know the value in the beginning and I expect the resistors to be the same but their value. So I created a library with resistors and kept the Value field modifiable. I set the value in schematic. This looks to do the job but BOM does not work the expected way. The components are expected the same, so they are in the same line etc. I solved this by copying the value to comment automatically. The only problem now is that if I make a modification of the component in the library and update the schematic. The Value is changed to its default and I loose a lot of time changing it over again. Is there a better way to deal with this?
- One reason for creating the own components was EU resistor symbol. I didn't find any such resistor in the vault. So it seams like thousands of resistors are useless. Is there any way how to use the components with a symbol according to other standard? Or modify the library in a batch?
- I run the DRC check and open the verification report. There are many errors. I click one of them. The PCB centers somehow but there is no specific pointing to the problem so I can't identify it from what I see. I have to go back to the report, find the coordinates and point the cursor to these coordinates on PCB so I see where the problem occured. This consumes a lot of time. How can I deal with it?
- I spent some time modifying the Print preview and Generate output file configuration. It is saved automatically in system. Can I store it somehow in a file so I can use it in a different installation again etc.?
Please advice if you have an answer or opinion.
Thank you very much.
