Missing features

The "Q" shortcut for switching between imperial and metric is still disabled for some odd reason and is also still in the CircuitStudio documentation.

 

Under "Setting the Workspace Units"

Does anyone know if this has been resolved or if it will be resolved? I know it is minor but it is annoying.

 

Also Board Shape -> Define from 3D body was supposed to be fixed in the 1.4 hotfix and this was never done as far as I can tell. Did CircuitStudio have this feature removed permenantly?

    Hi-

    For imperial or metric units I think they want you to use the ribbon toolbar buttons instead.  The ability to have and set hot keys would be nice though for this and other settings.  I'd like the grid settings to cycle by pressing the g key too.  it does this in the schematic but not in the pcb editor.

     

    FWIW I notice that when editing pads on PCB footprints you can use CTRL-Q to toggle between imperial and metric.  This is a help because the imperial/metric menus on the ribbon tool bar are deactivated by the pad editor popup window.

     

    I can't say about your board shape issue.  Usually I'd prefer to define board shape from a 2D DXF myself.

    I hope they are not purposely gimping shortcuts so that people would be forced to use the ribbon, that is crazy in itself, not even considering other tools in the price range like DipTrace are not removing shortcuts. I wish they had used the g key for cycling in pcb and a seperate key for the grid editor. A shortcut editor would be nice also.

    I was downloading enclosures and then I could just create the board shape from that and move the edges in a little bit.

    Hoping they fix some of this stuff in the next update. Actually I wonder when the next update it?
