I can't find how to connect to the vault so I'm trying to find other way to upgrade the small evaluation library on DXP : Altium Designer.
Hi. We can help with CircuitStudio questions but for Altium Designer I would suggest contacting Altium technical support directly. For CircuitStudio you connect to the Vault by completing the File > System Preferences > System > Account Management : Account Sign In fields (use your license email) and then File > System Preferences > Data Management > Vaults and add Altium Content Vault if not already showing and enabled.
Hi,
It is because the Altium technical support does not answer that I tried asking on a forum.
But I finally found a way to download some components ECAD using Samacsys' Library Loader... it is quicker than creating it from datasheets...
Otherwise, if anyone have another way, I'd be more than happy to learn.
Are you sure you are running Altium Designer and not Altium CircuitStudio? If CircuitStudio then here is the place to ask, Altium support will not be able to help you. However if you have Designer then you would need to ask Altium directly.
The information in my previous post was for CircuitStudio so if that is what you have then do give it a try.
Altium has its own forum for community support and I have found it to be very good. However, typically they can't help you with libraries because they are so specific to each user and in many cases each PCB. IMO, the Altium Designer IPC wizard is pretty good for standard footprints for the EIA0603 sizes and above. In my experience, the EIA0402 sizes and below may have issues for manufacturing (they are too big) and I would use the L-size. I found that PCB Matrix LP Calculator is useful for verification of standard parts footprints; I use an old version but it looks like the IPC website has a newer one I haven't tried.
