PCBDOC in CS creates multiple windows

bestboy4

I am trying to open PCBDOC in CS version 1.4 that was originally created in Designer 14.3.  I converted the file to PCB 5.0 Binary.  However, I am getting a ugly outcome in CS.  When I open the PCBDOC in CS, CS will open a seemingly infinite number of instantiations of CS (i.e. multiple windows).  The only way to stop it is to shut my computer down and restart.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Andrew, Even after you saved as PCB 5.0 Binary you need to do one more thing to open the file in CS. You need to Import the same. While import go for PCBDoc 5.0 and 6.0 Binary files. Refer to this link…

Can I use the import function if I have a trial version of CS? It is greyed out under the "File" drop down menu.

I'm not sure if this applies to your issue but did you "open" or "import" the file? I believe someone else reported a similar problem when they tried opening a pcbdoc file but was successful after importing the file.
