Custom Title Block and Drawing templates

dmaruska
dmaruska over 7 years ago

Hi, I'm new to CircuitStudio, How can I create a custom Title block, and how can I edit a sheet template and select it for drawings.  I may want to alter the sheet look and make it look somewhat like SolidWorks Drawing sheets.

Regards,

Dave M.

Your schematic templates are located in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Altium\CS\Templates.  Your templates have a *.SCHDOT file extension.  When you open a schematic template file, you can adjust the title block and sheet size.  Make your adjustments and save it in the template default folder as a *.SCHDOT file.

    Helpful hints:

CircuitStudio and Altium have a lot of similarities.  Search for Altium help and it works on CS as well.

Use the drop-down to select much of the text that you want.  ie. =DocumentFullPathAndName or =CurrentDate and it will autopopulate when you create a new schematic.

Choose your default units.  They can be changed any time but it's nice to start with it the way you want it.

A lot of this information is transferable to your BOM so make a BOM template in the same manner.

Now if you want to make your own PCB template, that is a little different.  There is a thread for that.  Click on the link.
