Generate Outputs not using entire page

adamwebber
adamwebber over 7 years ago

Something happened recently to my CS.  The PDF outputs are now filling a small portion of page.  I don't know what's going on.  I tried changing default prints scaling among other things.  It doesn't matter if it's an existing project or a new one.  Everything just changed somehow along the way.  Can anyone help?

    For others in this thread...

    Finally found a measure of success to my printer output issue.  https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8600-premium-e-all-in-one-printer-series-n911/4322916 has new Firmware for my HP8600 printer and new Windows Print Drivers for Windows 10, released Aug 2018.  Installing both of these software packages allows me to correctly print my A and B size schematics on Letter and Legal size paper respectively.

    CS Tips from Altium Australia:

    Outputs->Print->Page Setup->Preview displays Print Preview properly,

    Outputs->Print->Print Preview... does not.

    With the older HP8600 printer drivers, Scaling the output had no effect.  So far scaling with the new printer software isn't required, Fit Page works.

    I was so excited when I read that someone had been able to correct the issue of print scaling.  I downloaded the latest driver for my Epson printer but alas.  It did not fix the issue.

    The CS tips are also very helpful to figure out if the new driver will fix the problem:

    CS Tips from Altium Australia:

    Outputs->Print->Page Setup->Preview displays Print Preview properly,

    Outputs->Print->Print Preview... does not.

    I have contacted Epson in hopes that they will be able to determine a solution.  I'm not holding my breath.

    Yes, in hindsight it seems pretty obvious my CS 1.5 printing issue was my printer drivers&firmware.  What confused me is AD 17 would print the same project just fine from the same computer to the same printer with the older HP8600 drivers&firmware.

    What version of Windows are you running?  I'll assume Win10 Pro, like what I'm running. i.e. bought a new computer to run Circuit Studio for best performance.

    Early on I tried to get through new user CS issues by running CS in Windows 7 under VirtualBox to see if that would make a difference.  I see the Epson ET-3750 has a different set of printer drivers for Windows 7 vs Windows 10.  Maybe a different set of drivers for a more mature OS like Win7 all running in VirtualBox could get you around your CS printing issues until Epson can provide new driver software to fix CS printing in Win10.

    I know it's really frustrating, as one day ago I was in the same position and wondering what possibly could be wrong?  I lost more than a full-time day this time around trying to figure this out.

    Good luck!
