What to do about an object outside of the PCB workspace's coordinates?

Somewhat related to my previous question (as if I can do that then that fixes this problem) about moving a design in the workspace .  Due to the funny (buggy?) way copy/paste works I managed to paste some silkscreen off of the left side, i.e. it has a negative absolute Y coordinate. DRC complains about this (which is how I know that it's out there) but I can't figure out a way to select it to delete it. Since it's outside of my keepout I don't think it will cause problems in the gerbers but I would feel better if I could delete it.

You can try the "Select > Outside Area" command. This command can be found by typing "select" in the search box at the upper right hand side of window. Select "Select > Outside Area" in the drop down box. Then draw a box around the area that you don't want to delete and it should have selected the silkscreen off of the left side. At this point you should see the object is selected in the PCB Inspector window. Then just hit the delete key.

    Hi Jim,

That didn't work. It did result in me deleting the keepout layer (which is the board outline as that's how my PCB house wants it). Not sure why but since I can't get 'below' (0,0) I'm guessing some of the line(s) for that were considered outside. Oddly enough ^Z didn't restore it.

I also realized the out of bounds text is making it in to the Gerber file so I do want to fix that. I guess I'll have to go to the figuring out how to move everything - I was trying to save that headache for another day. I will try your suggestions there.

    BTW here's the error:

[Silk To Board Region Clearance Violation]    CC0001.CSPcbDoc    Advanced PCB    Silk To Board Region Clearance: (Out of silkscreen region) Text "220/16" (-31mm,210.5mm)  Top Overlay Silk primitive on board region without silkscreen    4:59:29 PM    5/22/2018    93

    Thanks for your suggestions

After shifting the board design in the workspace (see other thread, thanks to Jim for the suggestion there too) the objects located outside of the workspace grid were now inside the workspace grid and could be selected and deleted.

I have the same problem but I tried all suggestions already to no avail:

    This was my error:

1 Violation (1 Highlighted) : Silk To Board Region Clearance: (Out of silkscreen region) Track (-145.323mil,1572.821mil)(-145.323mil,8501.955mil)  Top Overlay Silk primitive on board region without silkscreen

See the coordinates: totally out of the workspace and unreachable.

But I found a much easier way out image

I zoomed out and selected everything by area and mouse, then calling the object inspector with F11 and protecting everything. After that CTRL-A to select everything and Delete.

After this unprotecting everything again and I tried the design rule check again, no problem anymore.

I can go back home and sleep again.
