Arc/Circles in CS 1.5.1 not displaying in PCB Library

I was trying to add a small circular mark in a pcb library component (both using the arc tool, and the full circle too). Unfortunately it doesn't seem as if it possible to actually add these. Even if you manage to add one, when the library is saved, the arc/circle is removed from the component. The best work-around I've found is to use a *very* short length of track, or a small single-layer pad.

This strikes me as a bug. Until it is fixed, any thoughts about which might be the better approach?

I've just tested this and it seems to work fine. I took an existing PCB library, added a circle on the Top Overlay layer then saved the library. Closed CS and restarted then re-opened the library and the drawn circle was still visible. If you start a completely new library and create a new component does circle drawing work? Is it possible you are drawing on a layer that is being hidden? Is the circle removed from the library component only or the view of the component when added to a PCB?

It does indeed work on a new component in a new  library, but not on the old one - strange. Even more peculiar, when I copied the old component to the new library, I was able to add the circle. Even copying it back to the old library kept the circle marker - and I was able to then add extra circles too.

One difference is that the "bad" library and component were started in 1.4.1, the new in 1.5.1. Could something have changed between versions?

I just worked it out - if you add a full circle with radius of 0, the shape appears on the page. However, as soon as you save, it is removed from the component. Setting a radius > 0 works.

As far as I know there we no changes to library handling so everything should still work as before. I do recall an incident with libraries where a customer has a silk screen line that disappeared on a component. Your experience sounds very similar so it does sounds like a very obscure bug that nobody has found how to reproduce and is encountered by very few people.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing your findings.
