Circuit Studio Parameter Manager and Footprint Manager??

turjohn

Am I missing it or does Circuit Studio not have the parameter and footprint manager tools that are available in Altium designer?  I get that this is a very stripped down version of Altium, but for $500 it's crazy to think they wouldn't include some of this basic functionality.  Can anyone recommend a better way to edit component parameters than going through each component individually and making the changes?

In general look to the object inspector to make mass changes to object properties although not everything can be changed using this technique.

    Hi,

I'm also searching a solution for that.

In my previous company I was using Alium. Now I'm trying CircuitStudio because of the price.

How to generate a good BOM without being able to edit component parameters massively ?

Did you find a solution ?

    Thank you,

    Christophe

If you know Altium Designer scripting, you might be able to create a script to open the library and add/modify parameters that way. Although it isn't made obvious, it seems as if CS has a degree of scripting available. You need to open the script *.pas file, and then use Run etc as commands typed in the search box to execute the script (there doesn't seem to be a menu option).
