Saving off a title block from a customer supplied SchDoc

jmarkwolf

I have a customer submitted Altium SchDoc. Their logo didn't come in properly. I want to copy off their title block as an SchDot and instantiate their logo back in to the title block.

If I remember correctly, it was possible to save off just the SchDot template from a SchDoc in Altium Designer, but I can't see a way to do it in Circuit Studio. Is there a way?

    This might help:

Thanks Volts. I should've explained my issue better.

I followed the discussion and was unsuccessful.

James Harriman suggest creating a new SchDoc, then re-saving it as an SchDot, hitting "O" to open the file, then "Clear" the template.

This does exactly that, clears the titleblock, as in nothing to edit. Any SchDot I open is un-selectable and un-editable.

I tried variations on his suggestions and was never able to edit anything in the client supplied template.

    Please advise.

I've done some experimenting and I think it may not be possible to save off an editable version of the template. It is quite possible to create your own editable templates so if the client has created their own it may be possible they can supply the original file.

    I think you're correct Peter.

I thought once a drawing was saved off as a "SchDot" that the border and title block were then editable, but apparently not.

I can edit any SchDot loaded from the CS templates folder, but not so something saved off from a "SchDoc" file.
