Excel BoM Export, combine two parameters

hlovett

Hi,

Is there anyway to get the BoM exporter to combine two columns together? I have two (large) libraries, with the Manufacturer Part Number parameters named differently ('part_number' in one, 'part number' in the other).

Currently, I have to put two columns in my BoM template to make all the information I need to come out, which is just ugly. Manually combining them is, of course, possible, but annoying to have to do. Renaming all of the parameters would take far too long.

It'd be ideal if I could put something along the lines of Column=(part_number|part number) in my template to get this to work (I have tried that, and similar already!).

Alternatively, is there a way to mass edit parameters of a library?

Cheers,

Henry

I don't believe you can merge parameters and there isn't any mass parameter editor for a library. Maybe an Excel macro/script could be used?

    Thanks Peter.

Found an easier solution than going full Macro. Excel templates will copy formulas over rows. I put my Part_Number and "Part Number" in two columns to the side and hid them. Then just had an IF formula to choose between them in the body of the file.

    Cheers
