Future of CircuitStudio

I think this question was asked by Hans Dornaus in November 2018 and the promise was that details would a merge  in 2019 as to software updates and development road map. I am not sure if this happened or not but I think all interested parties would like to know where both Altium and Element14 see it's future in a  market now more competitive than ever with the rise of Easy EDA and AutoDesk Eagle continuing development and integration with Fusion 360 and also KiCad getting more development time. I think CircuitStudio is well over due for an update that is more than just  maintenance but adds value and features that will keep its existing users and attract new ones.

I am afraid companies are like people: Their interests in projects comes and goes like the wind. Seems like many factors like $$$ dictates the directions.

    IMHO,

I think the money is the big factor here. Perhaps Element14 led Altium to believe there was a bigger market than there really is for a more economical PCB package.

There are a lot of free, or nearly so, PCB packages on the market now. I just hope Altium doesn't abandon Circuit Studio. I was an early adopter and I'd be out a chunk of change.

I've had conversations about this with reps and they seemed upset when I said I didn't need Altium Designer because Circuit Studio was enough for my needs. I suspect Circuit Studio cut the Designer sales too much, and it will eventually go away.
