I can't do a single segment click on schematic wiring.

I referred to the following items in the CS document, but it does not work.

No single segment is selected in red.

What should I do?

When I click the second time, nothing happens.

    Hi,

I'm not aware that direct editing of sections is allowed in CS.  I think it is in AD.  The fastest way to do what you want may be to break the wire line segment and reposition the end points.

    Cheers.

Alternatively, you can change the options for the cutting of wire segments to snap to segment.  That would allow you to delete a segment.

That document is a CS document.

    I referenced the document http://documentation.circuitstudio.com/display/CSTU/CircuitStudio+-+((Schematic+Editing+Strategies))

I still don't know why it doesn't work.

    Hi,

It probably doesn't work like as shown in the document you refer to because the short video there is from Altium Designer and not from CircuitStudio.  The evidence of this is that the video shows a right click giving the find similar objects feature that is not in CS.  Also, the vertices in CS do not turn red like they do in AD.

Here is a cut/paste screen shot of the video.  It appears they based the documentation on prior generated AD documents.

    Hello,

Despite the video and your linked help-document the feature doesn't work and you are not the first who discovers it.

I have read about this topic on another thread (either on this forum or on the eevblog-forum) and the conclusion was that the function doesn't exist. The video and the help-text are false.

The implementation of this little function would really help on the normal day-to-day-work, but nobody knows if this feature will slip into the next release (and more important, which time stamp the next release will show - 2023?).

True that we don't know 100% for certain but I tested the newer beta version and it shows me that the segment edits are in-fact working in the newer way.  I think it is a good bet that it will be in the next release.  I do not know when that will be.  Hopefully soon.

When I started using CS, segment edit (red end dots) was one of the first things I missed vs AD.

The closest (or most useful function that IS present) is to right click on a wire and select "break wire".

This gives a narrow, rectangular, dotted box.  Place it over a wire segment and left click to delete that portion.

The length of this pick box is controlled by the grid "g" and you can work against a junction dot without losing it.

It also will automatically size to a shorter or longer section, to a point.
