Update Schematic Sheets after a Component Update in a Library

I have recently discovered that some of my parts in my libraries were save with invalid characters in the Library Link or the footprint Models name.  Apparently "space" and "/" are not permitted. I don't know what other character are not permitted either (yet).

 

However, once I've changed the offending library parts, "Update Schematic Sheets" doesn't seem to make any of the updates I made in the Library to the associated parts in the project schematics.

 

Any ideas on how I can force the project schematics to refresh the parts changes made in the Libraries?
