Failed to add class member

I took a very small part of a circuit and duplicated it.

Since CS duplicates the refdes, I then went to "Tools->Reset Duplicates" and then "Tools -> "Annotate Schematics Quietly"

Afterwards, I went to the PCB, import the schematic changes.  After doing the validation, I have this problem:

image

I saw "Yes"

After validating the changes I see this:

So, I tried to simplify it down and added just this instead:

R10 is copied from R1.

Trying to import changes:

I don't understand what is going on with this.  Any help would be great.

    Hi Jason!!

This Happens a lot when you add components with a designator that already exists in the layout, it will not add the component again, and will not modify the component that already exist as the Unique Identifier is not shared, there are two ways to solve this issue:

1 - you can delete form the layout the components with conflict, then sync again and they will be newly added.

2 - as mentioned in the second image sent, you can use the component link feature in "Tools > Component Links", this will sync the unique modifiers, after that you must import changes from the schematic again and everything will be updated as expected.

this happens because when you delete a component from the schematic and add a new one, you brake the link between the Schematic and the Layout, as the component exists in the schematic it will not be deleted, but will not be updated as the link is broken, to prevent this you can delete the components then import the changes, then add components and import again, but the two methods mentioned are great too.

    Hope it helps!!!
