CircuitStudio purchase - BIG license issue(s) and warning

Hi,

i just bought a CS license from Farnell. But there is a HUGE issue with license delivery

1. I bought the license this week and got it today (24/9/2016) - but license start date is the 20/09/2016 and order date was 23/09/2016?) - are you shorting out peoples licenses on purpose? A year should be from the day YOU deliver - not the day I order or some arbitrary date before my purchase. I have never seen that before.. Not even by Adobe.... -

Sorry delete - i should have read the document/email - it is a jump start license until I get my own...

but still leaves last issue:

4. License expires?? Does that mean I cant use CS after the expiry date if I do not buy "maintenance? " - I'm sorry but I was not aware that it was a subscription ONLY product and it would stop working after the initial period. I could not find that described anywhere.

If the Product will cease to work one year after purchase  - then please refund me the CS package and I will buy Proteus instead.

I have deleted the license from my computer

thank you very much

Hi Phil and Kyler, If possible please send me a PM or submit your details to http://www.circuitstudio.com/contact-us and I'll have a look. We had some problems where the license emails were sent to older…

Hi Skyler, Actually I just found you, there is a request from element14 to Altium processing to investigate. So I'll enquire about it from my end. Best regards, James Harriman Altium

Just received an email from element14 that describes how to activate the license. I didn't have to input any license file or serial number into the software to activate my license. I had to navigate to…

No their online services will cease to work after a year unless you buy the subscription (which somewhere between $100 to 200 yr last time I checked.)

The licence for CS is perpetual.

Good luck with that, my jump start licence has expired - now I am locked out, which is painful to say the least.  And to date, no response from the powers that be at element 14.

Seems there are some issues with issuing licences...

I wonder if we should contact Altium directly?

I actually got my license on Monday in my Name - and when I logged in the subscription shows support expires in 1 year but license to software does not.

So it took from Thursday to Monday to get the real license - and the jump start license was to be honest a waste of time and confusing to say the least - especially because the Jump Start part is only listed in the 2nd or 3rd paragraph. First paragraph says  "here is your license" so I jumped to conclusions - so communications is not easy. image (Neither from me reading or Farnell writing)

Better in the future to send a license saying "Extended TEST license until Altium issues your PERSONALISED license" image in the header and first line.

Then just include a license file and not the waste of time download extra license - login as farnell - activate license etc. Reading that and going through it takes time that could have been better used on other stuff

But please Farnell/Element14/Altium - ALL the online video's are CRAP quality - content might be great - but why post 720p videos when material comes from 1080p screen or better? First rule of screen casting - ALWAYS ether lower your resolution to your publishing resolution - or increase your publishing resolution so SCREENS are readable... And get someone to cut out the 1m30 second into in every 15m video in the "webcast" series - and do NOT cut in/out in the middle of a word or sentence. BASIC video mixing knowledge... image
