CircuitStudio purchase - BIG license issue(s) and warning

Hi,

i just bought a CS license from Farnell. But there is a HUGE issue with license delivery

1. I bought the license this week and got it today (24/9/2016) - but license start date is the 20/09/2016 and order date was 23/09/2016?) - are you shorting out peoples licenses on purpose? A year should be from the day YOU deliver - not the day I order or some arbitrary date before my purchase. I have never seen that before.. Not even by Adobe.... -

Sorry delete - i should have read the document/email - it is a jump start license until I get my own...

but still leaves last issue:

4. License expires?? Does that mean I cant use CS after the expiry date if I do not buy "maintenance? " - I'm sorry but I was not aware that it was a subscription ONLY product and it would stop working after the initial period. I could not find that described anywhere.

If the Product will cease to work one year after purchase - then please refund me the CS package and I will buy Proteus instead.

I have deleted the license from my computer

I recently purchased Circuit Studio, but Newark/Element14 and Altium seem super slow in sending out the software & licence. Has anyone else had issues with this?

We ordered back in January via quote & PO, but then cancelled recently since it was taking over 1 month and nobody at Newark was able to help. We purchased online instead this time but it's still been 2 weeks out with no details at all. I contacted Newark customer service who again have not been able to help much.

Just curious what other peoples experiences were. I'm amazed that in this day and age, getting software that you paid for can take so long...

Hey Phil,
I ordered a license on March 4th and still haven't received my license number. I called Newark today and they mentioned they were having difficulty with CircuitStudio purchases. I was told I would hear back in two days. I'll keep you updated on my situation.

Just received an email from element14 that describes how to activate the license. I didn't have to input any license file or serial number into the software to activate my license. I had to navigate to "My Account" >> "Licenses" and then selected "Activate". Thanks for the help jamesharrimanaltium.

Hi Skyler,

No problem, the investigations have helped us to streamline the license processing so we can process the increased number of CircuitStudio licenses.

The license activation you described downloads the license file (*.ALF) to your local drive so now you are fully licensed and the software can use that license with no further Internet access. Your sign in can now be optionally used to access the Altium Content and is also used to do currency conversions when using the Supplier Links feature.

Over a year later from the previous post and same issue going on in Australia with Element14. It took a bunch of emails for them to realise they had to DO something. The last response I got was 29/03/18 and still waiting for my license.
