Some Windows Not Full Size

weinbergj
weinbergj over 8 years ago

Hello Everyone,

Just starting to work with CircuitStudio and getting used to things.

I do have one issue I have not been able to figure out and maybe someone can help.  When I open some windows within the program, the full window is not completely viewable and I do not see a way to see all of it.  For example, when I click on Library, Options, the Library Editor Workspace window open but it is not large enough to see the buttons or text at the bottom of the window.  The bottom of the window is right below the "Library Description" text.  I know there is some text and buttons below this but I can't see them or know of a way to enlarge the window.  This also happens on some other windows.  This also happens on either of my 2 monitors, large or small.

Does anyone have any advice or a solution.

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm trying to recreate this to see where the fault is but I'm at a loss.  I guess I don't understand which window you are referring.  I know it's not just one window but I can't seem to get where you are struggling with this.  Could you be more specific in your query?

    Hi James,

Thanks for the reply.  I have attached a screen shot showing the bottom of the Library Editor Workspace window chopped off with no way to see what is at the bottom of the window or accept any changes I make.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Unfortunately, it appears that I cannot help you.  I performed the same function as your picture and I get the full-size window.  There is no ability to resize.  I can tell you that I am using 1920x1080 resolution on Windows 7, 64-bit.  I have disabled animations in my Windows settings because the new animations in Microsoft Word and Excel drive me crazy.  There may be a window size setting somewhere in the program but as I am not a CS developer, I have no idea where to look.  Hopefully this picture will be of some help.

    Hi Jeff,

I received your phone call.  I will escalate this issue to the developers.

This is a common issue with high res displays and scaling.  CS is unusable on my MS Surface Pro without external monitors, and many other have complained about it on other forums.  I assume it's the case here...

It's a frustrating issue but it would probably take a change of UI framework.

For a workaround for CS not scaling properly on high-DPI screens, see a post by user takahidehimself on EEBlog Forum: http://www.eevblog.com/forum/circuit-studio/circuit-studio-on-4k-monitors/msg1164887/#msg1164887

Thanks!  I was just about to write up a question about the Libraries panel text about half the size of all other panel text on a 4K monitor.  This fixed it...CS developers, please take note.

I'm seeing a superficially similar problem on CS 1.3 and 1.4 on the PCB component properties window, but I'm not at high DPI, I'm using 1920x1080 @ 100% scaling on Windows 7 64-bit. I see this:

However, the image in the documentation looks like this:

    image

It looks like the documentation image is from an earlier version without the "True Type/Stroke" radio buttons, but it also certainly looks like the Designator Font "Inverted" option has been pushed out of view, and some options are missing (deliberately or not) from the Comment Font area. This is just the first instance that I noticed, there may be others. Does anyone else see this, or something different?

    Thanks,

    Aaron T.
