HI Guys,
My circuit studio is crashing as I am trying to add footprint to the component.
Can anyone help me plz.
this is happening since 2 days.
Many thanks
satya venkata.
Hi Satya, sorry to hear you are having problems with CS. Difficult to say what's happening because you haven't provided many details. Does it crash with just the one project or with any project when adding a footprint? Are you using the latest version of CS and have you tried re-installing it? Do you have a small sample project that crashes, if so then please feel free to email me direct with the design and I will take a look for you.
Thanks peter for the reply.
I sorted it out.
Can you tell us what the problem was, in case anyone else encounters it?
Hi Aron,
The problem I found was withe the library part description.
When I created a Footprint in the library,
In Library -> Component Properties for the Footprint.
Under Description if you put a semicolon or colon and save the foot print.
When you try to assign a footprint to the schematic, Circuitstudio crashes.
I am having lot of issues with Libraries apart from this issue.
When ever I create a new component with footprint and schematic, try to import from schematic to PCB layout I am always getting a error in Engineering Change order. it showing me that there is no footprint found.
To be honest I am getting little fedup with this software, As the developers are trying to compete with Eagle and making more improvement to make eagle user to use Circuitstudio rather than making the PCB and Schematic environment more robust.
There are issues with Classes, design rules.
If you assign class and than use them in design rule, it doesn't apply to Layout while I am Routing.
If check the design rules and Classes, the assigned Class will not be there.
This software is truly disappointing in terms of the way it works.
"What is the point of having a body without a brain"
I hope Developer more concentrate on PCB and Schematic environment rather than improving eagle importers or some other importers.
