CircuitStudio - Looping  / Crash

Is anyone else experiencing CS getting into a loop with the "Information, please wait" dialogue repeatedly popping up and then sending a report?

It seems to correlate with when I have been updating an Integrated Library. It is very annoying as I have to use Task Manager to shut CS down to try and clear it - which does work sometimes but not always happen i.e. the bug comes back.

Hints and tips as to how to stop this will be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Neil

Hey, I have been looking at a similar workaround. For me I can't have the project file open at all otherwise it still sometimes starts giving the errors, but less seldom if you don't compile any libraries…

Hi, I have same problem. I hope that next update solve it, but I am waiting for it quite long time (over 4 months), but still nothing comes.

Yeah, I ran into the same problem. Reported it to support a while ago, didn't get a solution...

Fixing any warnings & errors given when compiling a library does appear to reduce the frequency of the loop but not entirely. My libraries compile OK in the full version of Altium but not in CS so I suspect, in my case at least,  it is an incompatibility issue between Altium libs and CS libs.

For me, it was a fresh hand-crafted CS library, not imported from Altium at all.

    Yes I see this,

I thinks it's related to the lib's creation issue not going smoothly.

I thought I would preach to the choir as well. This bug makes working on component libraries very annoying. The errors I get after the "information, please wait" window range from catastrophic failure to address read errors to blank. I hope someone somewhere is working on this. Also if anyone knows a fix to this then please share with the rest of us, for the sake of world peace.

As much as I know the Verision 1.2.0 (Build 37) should be the latest. If there is a newer one then it does not show up on the update page.

    Hi Ahten,

I'm not very sure if this will work but have a go anyways.

If you have the integrated library (that you created) open and being accessed in a different project, then DO NOT try to update the library. instead, close the project that is using the library, then update your library with whatever changes you need and then re-compile the library. You can then use or open the project that in turn uses this library. This should avoid any dependencies being over run.

Again, not entirely sure if this will work but let us know if it makes any difference. Thanks.

    Hey,

I have been looking at a similar workaround.

For me I can't have the project file open at all otherwise it still sometimes starts giving the errors, but less seldom if you don't compile any libraries. Having just the integrated libraries open does get rid of the problem almost completely but still every now and then it gets angry and throws an empty error.

At least I can work mostly uninterrupted by errors by working on either the libraries or projects.
