I have literally spent the last 3 days creating a PCB circuit board project in Circuit Studio. After 3 days of work, I open the project tonight to find a "blank" project.
The schematic sheet is completely empty and the pcb board file is "unsupported file type" when I try to open it. The project was saved in excess of 50 times, compiled and the board updated repeatedly. The history file shows 36 versions and a timestamp of the projects being saved. I have accepted that the software is fairly "buggy" but this is really unbelievable! Circuit Studio is marketed as a professional software but if you are considering it for professional use......BEWARE!!!!
In addition, I have placed a call into Altium's technical support and was told that they do not support the software and to contact Element14 via email. Really?? (Altium doesn't support their own software?? That should have been a Published NOTICE before allowing the purchase of the software.
When I go to the Element14 Website and click on the "24 Hour Live Support" it shows "Support Offline". It just keeps adding Insult to Injury. Seriously you can't make this stuff up. It really goes to show you: You get what you pay for! EVEN at $1000 FYI; I am in the market for a software package.....please advise with any recommendations.
